Each one of us is born to win, right? Not born to lose!
I like this story by Norman Vincent Peale: ‘Once walking through the twisted little streets of Kowloon in Hong Kong, I came across a tattoo studio. In the window were displayed samples of the tattoos available. On the chest or arms you could have tattooed an anchor or flag or mermaid or whatever. But what struck me with force were three words that could be tattooed on one’s flesh, ‘Born To Lose’.
‘I entered the shop in astonishment and, pointing to these words asked the Chinese tattoo artist, “Does anyone really have that phrase, ‘Born To Lose’ tattooed on their body?”
‘He replied, “Yes sometimes.”
“But,” I said, “I can’t believe that anyone in his right mind would do that.”
‘The Chinese man simply tapped his head and said in broken English, “Before tattoo on body, tattoo already on mind!”
So true isn’t it, so many of us feel we are losers.
A famous coach in Chicago, had a slogan prominently displayed on his office wall, ‘Always go to bed a winner!’
A wise thought indeed, and so very different from the tattoo you could put on your chest of being born a loser. No. You are a winner.
The Chicago coach explained by saying, “During sleep the thoughts of the conscious mind permeate the subconscious, and I do not want to have my players thinking losing thoughts. So I told them to never take defeatism to bed with them.”
So here’s what you need to do today, remove the tattoo from your mind that you are a loser. It is a fact that there is a deep tendency in human nature to become precisely what we image ourselves to be. If you for example, suffer from an inferiority complex and always image yourself as inadequate, actually disbelieving that you are the best, ultimately you will find yourself a failure.
So remove such etchings from your mind.
How? By opening the Holy Scriptures and finding verse after verse of a God, who is desperately trying to woo you and win your love! Now, tell me, wouldn’t any of you strut with shoulders pushed out to know that someone is in love with you?
Just imagine that someone is God!
What more assurance do you need that you are a winner than that you are sought after by the Almighty?
Now let a new tattoo form in your mind: The Tattoo of a Winner!
Like I said at the very beginning; each one of us is born to win, so start doing what you were born to do..!
