Rise Up and Win..!

And as Covid lays low, not just lives but jobs and businesses and there is a feeling of despair all around, I decided I would fill today’s piece with quotes from those who spoke about failing, getting up and fighting, again and again and again.
“Our greatest glory is not in never falling; but in rising every time we fall!” Oliver Goldsmith.
“Courage and Perseverance have a magical talisman, before which difficulties and obstacles vanish into thin air.” John Quincy Adams
“Perseverance is a great element of success. If you only knock long enough and loud enough at the gate, you are sure to wake up somebody” Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
“All things are possible to him that believeth” Mark 9:23
“He who gains a victory over other men is strong, but he who gains a victory over himself is all powerful” Lao-tse.
“It feels good to go fronting into a hard wind, winning against its power, but it feels a thousand times better to go forward to a goal of inward achievement, brushing aside all your old internal enemies as you advance” Vash Young.
“When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn” Harriet Beecher Stowe.
“The lowest ebb is the turn of the tide!” Longfellow.
“Rebellion against your handicaps gets you nowhere. Self-pity gets you nowhere. One must have the adventurous daring to accept oneself as a bundle of possibilities and undertake the most interesting game in the world; making the most of one’s best.” Harry Fosdick.
“It is no disgrace to start all over. It is usually an opportunity.” George Adams.
“I have lived eighty- six years. I have watched men climb up to success; hundreds of them, and of all the elements that are important for success, the most important is faith. No great thing comes to any man unless he has courage.” James Gibbons.
“No one is beaten unless he gives up the fight” W. Beran Wolfe.
Let me end with these wonderful words by Dorothea Brande: “All that is necessary to break the spell of inertia and frustration is this: Act as if it is impossible to fail. That is the talisman, the formula, the command of right about face which turns us from failure towards success.”
The people who have found success have all found one footstool that helped them as they stood on it and won, and that footstool was yesterday’s failure. So there you are, standing on the best footstool ever, now, rise up and win..!

  1. Quitters never win.Winners never quit. Each failure is a step towards success for it’s a lesson learnt and adds to experience that enriches knowledge. So we should never give up but step up the ladder trying.
