With all the serious posts I’ve been posting, thought some advice with a dash of humour thrown in would help today: So here in a lighter vein is one such incident of how a negative person was handled: Remember this story the next time someone who knows nothing, and cares a damn, tries to make your life miserable.
A woman was at her hairdresser’s getting her hair styled for a trip to Washington with her husband. She mentioned the trip to the hairdresser, who responded:
“Washington? Why would anyone want to go there? It’s crowded and dirty. You’re crazy to go to Washington. Anyway, how are you getting there?”
“We’re taking Continental,” was the reply. “We got a great rate!”
“Continental?” exclaimed the hairdresser. “That’s a terrible airline. Their planes are old, their flight attendants are ugly, and they’re always late. So, where are you staying in the USA?”
“We’ll be at this exclusive little place over at the capital, it’s called The Room.”
“Don’t go any further. I know that place. Everybody thinks its gonna be something special and exclusive, but it’s really a dump.”
“We’re going to go to see the White House and maybe get to see the President.”
“That’s rich,” laughed the hairdresser. You and a million other people trying to see him: He’ll look the size of an ant. Boy, good luck on this lousy trip of yours. You’re going to need it.”
A month later, the woman again came in for a hairdo. The hairdresser asked her about her trip to the USA.
“It was wonderful,” explained the woman, “not only were we on time in one of Continental’s brand new planes, but it was overbooked, and they bumped us up to first class. The food and wine were wonderful, and I had a handsome 28-year-old steward who waited on me hand and foot.
And the hotel was great! They’d just finished a $5 million remodeling job, and now it’s a jewel, the finest hotel in the city. They, too, were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us their owner’s suite at no extra charge!”
“Well,” muttered the hairdresser, “that’s all well and good, but I know you didn’t get to see the President.”
“Actually, we were quite lucky, because as we toured Washington and came to the White House, a secret service man tapped me on the shoulder, and explained that the President likes to meet some of the visitors, and if I’d be so kind as to step into the Oval room and wait, he would personally greet me.
Sure enough, five minutes later, the President walked through the door and shook my hand and he spoke a few words to me.”
“Oh, really! What’d he say?” asked the hairstylist.
“Ah,” said the woman, “He said, “Who messed up your hair? Change your hairdresser..!”

Ha ha.
My wife is very much a Negative Person.
Not possible to Change her for the last 42 year
Got to live with her until Death do us Part.
Quite a negative statement this… Wonder where her negativity stems from…
Eversince I retired.
You maybe missing her positive aspects please recheck.
Telling me. In today’s world, it’s very difficult to find a positive attitude. Most are with a – ve attitude.
Good thoughts to start a new day with
Very good story and highly relevant in the current world. 95% of the people we meet daily are negative and vary only in their degree of negativity. My driver is one such. He very often foresees heavy traffic in the next junction and tries to take a circuitous detour. But when forced by me to take the usual route we find there isn’t any sign of traffic there at the junction!
Such persons throw a wet blanket on others and try to turn the world around them to a damp one. Very relevant selection of topic today Bob. Thanks.
“ Stay away from negative people, they have a problem for every solution ! “
Albert Einstein
Good article and your Reader’s comments too good..what was interesting was their honest comments..Good one..we want some more of this..solutions..to every problem there is always a solution..it is how we look at it.
For positive people..for every problem there is a solution..for negative people..even if there is a solution they are only obsessed with the problem therefore no solution..the problem is like mosquitoes flying only over their heads.
Excellent snubbing.
IAM not a nigitive person This situation makes that we are so lost
When you are away from the loved ones we have to fight to keep the positive Sprite flow and block the nigitive Sprite
