Several years ago a preacher moved to Houston, Texas. Some weeks after he arrived, he had occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change.
As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, you better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it. Then he thought, “Oh, forget it, it’s only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount Anyway the bus company already gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a gift from God and keep quiet.”
When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, “Here, you gave me too much change.”
The driver with a smile, replied, “Aren’t you the new preacher in town I have been thinking lately about going to worship somewhere. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change!”
When the preacher stepped off the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, and held on, and said, “O God, I almost sold you for a quarter! That quarter was like the 30 pieces of silver that Judas sold Jesus for!”
A song I love says:
Take a look at yourself, the life you are leading
Don’t you know somebody’s watching you
It may be your friend, It might be your neighbour
So be careful of the things you say and do.
Your life’s the only Bible some people read
That’s why you must be careful of the things that you do
So take a look at yourself, the life you are living
You are the only Bible some people read!
You can take the Bible from the above words and put in the religious book precious to you; it may be the Gita, the Koran or any of the scriptures whose pages are holy with religious thought, but there’s really no use telling your friends about those pages, or thinking your religion is better than someone else’s if your life doesn’t show such.
It’s very often a quarter in the form of help you give to the poor, or kindness shown to the less fortunate, or controlling your impatience or temper that makes others realize you are different!
Don’t be found wanting and sell your faith for thirty pieces of silver..!

God created n gave us a super consciousness n super conscience. We can never stray but its the temptation v have to fight. And we better fight …there is no serving the devil. He harms those disloyal to him as well as all those who are on his side.
Honesty pays always, God bless you for the interesting example (story)
I call it,the battle fields of the mind, a voice comes from within to do the righteous act, it depends on you to obey or ignore. In your heart there is a Wolf & a Sheep,it depends on whom you are feeding & nurturing. We have to face the consequences.

“No legacy is so rich as honesty. “
William Shakespeare.
Thanks Bob for the today’s column. The definition of the true religion is found, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to visit the orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world ” (James 1:27)
This was amazing !!!!
And scary.
We can throw someone’s life away for 1 rupee …..
We are the Bible they are reading……
We must be careful
HOW we walk. …..
That is hard……
But with
God
ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.
Truly a masterpiece !!
A quarter has the strength to save or destroy one’s honour, faith, values and respect
Honesty is always the best policy.
We have peace of mind when we are honest. This is priceless treasure. My teacher, when I was small, had sent me with money to be given in my brother’s class to his teacher. There was extra cash which she said would be there.I gave it back to her though she had told me I could keep it. So his teacher announced to her class that I was the most honest student in the school.Money can’t buy us peace or honour. Honesty does. It reflects our God’s character as we r made in His image.Japan came up due to it’s honest and hard working people. They are thus true nationalists and patriots. The love of money is the root of all evil. Let’s be masters not slaves of it
