Lonely after Christmas..!

As the last wisps of Christmas magic dissipated, Kamala felt a familiar pang of loneliness settle in. The tree was still lit, the imitation stockings still hung by the tree, but the warmth and excitement of the Christmas season seemed to have vanished overnight.
Kamala wandered around her quiet house, feeling the emptiness echo off the walls. She had spent Christmas with her family and could still hear their laughter as they opened their gifts and showered her with love, but now they were all gone, back to their busy lives.

She was alone once more.
As she sat on the couch, staring blankly at the tree, Kamala felt a gentle nudge in her heart. It was a reminder of a truth she had learned long ago: the Christ child can be your friend.
Kamala’s eyes wandered to the small nativity scene on her centre table. She gazed at the tiny figure of Jesus, wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. She remembered the words of the Bible, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” (John 1:14)
In that moment, Kamala felt a sense of wonder and awe wash over her. She realized that Jesus, the Christ child, was not just a historical figure or a distant deity. He was a living, breathing person who desired to be her friend.

That the celebration of His earthly birth yesterday was a celebration of His entrance into her earthly life.
Kamala’s loneliness began to lift as she contemplated this truth. She felt a sense of comfort and peace settle in, like a warm blanket on a cold winter’s night.
She began to talk to Jesus, sharing her thoughts and feelings with Him.

She told Him about her loneliness, her fears, and her apprehensions. And as she spoke, she felt a sense of connection and companionship that she had not felt in a long time.
The hours passed, and Kamla found herself lost in conversation with Jesus. She laughed, she cried, and she felt seen and heard in a way that she never had before.
As the night drew to a close, Kamala felt a sense of gratitude and wonder. She realized that she was not alone, that Jesus was with her, always. And in that knowledge, she found a deep and abiding peace.
The Christmas season may have come to an end, but Kamala knew that the gift of Jesus’ birth was actually a friendship which was hers to keep, always. And with that knowledge, she felt a sense of joy and hope that she had not felt in a long time.

If you are feeling lonely today after Christmas, like Kamala did, realise that your celebration yesterday was for every day of your life:

A life when you need never be alone..!
