Ever watched someone fumbling with the TV remote during a tense cricket match? The batsman is facing the last ball, the whole family is on edge, and suddenly, Uncle Ramesh presses pause! “Arrey, bathroom break,” he mutters.
And the whole room groans.
The moment is frozen. Suspense hangs in the air.
No progress, no resolution. Just… pause.
Now imagine God with a remote.
Yes, that remote. The one with the pause button. And guess what? He uses it. Not during IPL matches, mind you, but during life. Your life. My life.
But not like Uncle Ramesh just did.
Think of the Israelites. A nation full of people who saw miracles. Water turning to blood, frogs leaping like trained gymnasts, locusts, hail, darkness — every plague a divine spectacle. And then — drumroll — they’re finally let go. They’ve packed their bags, and are marching out, tambourines in hand.
But oh dear, the moment they see the Egyptian army coming at them, they start grumbling: “Why did you bring us out here to die, Moses? Were there no graves in Egypt?”
And what does God do? Press pause?
Nope. He parts the Red Sea.
He doesn’t wait. He doesn’t say, “Let me teach them a lesson first.” He parts it. Just like that. Gives them a way through. And the Israelites walk through walls of water with fish probably giving them side-look.
You’d think they’d learn. But no. Fast forward a few days and they’re back at it: “We miss Egypt! The food!”
Still, God doesn’t press pause. He sends manna. Water from a rock. Quail from the skies. GPS in the form of a cloud by day and fire by night. The original Google Maps.
But then, they reach the Promised Land. Right at the doorstep. A place God handpicked for them. Milk, honey, the works. And suddenly they’re scared. “There are giants,” they whisper. “We’ll be crushed like grasshoppers,” they whimper.
That’s when God gently, firmly, puts His thumb on the remote and presses pause.
That’s when he gives them forty years of desert wandering. Forty years to think, trust, mature. Not because God gave up.
No, because they weren’t ready.
Because trust wasn’t yet in their vocabulary.
So, friend, are you hearing horses in the background? Do you feel the ground rumbling with enemy hooves? Are you at your Red Sea moment? Good. Because you’re about to witness a miracle — if you trust-implicitly!
But if before that huge miracle, He has planned all along for you, you let fear in, if you are doubting, then brace yourself… God might just hit pause.
And desert sand isn’t good for your feet. Or your faith.
So don’t wait for God to press pause. Trust now. March on. Because faith parts seas. Fear prolongs wanderings.
Because God isn’t looking for people who miss Egypt—He’s waiting for those ready to move forward, even if their shoes are full of sand…!

Yes Trajano. Thank you.
God’s timing is never punitive—it is preparative, purposeful, and perfectly timed. A truth we often overlook in the shadow of fear.
Faith moves us toward the promise, fear only delays the journey.
Yes, indeed. Thanks Ayesha.
God is Good all the time
