It was at the class reunion they met. She’d been the love of his life through all the years in school, but sadly he thought she’d never known, because he thought she’d never cared to know, since she was with everyone but him. But today, she looked at him, a strange look on her face, “You’ve changed,” she whispered, “I can hardly recognise you!”
And through the evening, he felt her eyes on him, “can we go out for a drink?” she finally asked, “reunions are such a bore!”
“No,” he said, “I’m married!”
“She won’t know,” she whispered, “And if I’m not mistaken, you did have a crush on me, while at school. I’m available now!” And with seductive eyes she looked at him.
“I do owe you a drink,” he said, “But not for the reason, that’s on your mind!”
She looked at him quizzically as he continued, “I owe you much of my life,” he said, “I was in love with you!”
I know,” she said breathlessly.
“But I realised there was something you did not see in me, so I decided I would address that something you were blind to!” he said.
“You hit the bottle?” she asked, “There were many who could not get me, who called from some bar, drunk, and weeping for me.”
“I thought of that,” he said with a smile, “But decided instead to be chiselled into a somebody, from the nobody you did not see. I changed from a weakling who ran from problems to standing up and facing them, and then met someone who did not see what you see now, but saw what I could become!”
“But she’s not here!”
“In my brashness, she saw someone struggling to be heard, and she listened. In my shyness she saw someone needing confidence, and many bowls and buckets of such, she poured in me.”
“She made you what you are?” she asked.
“No, in her love I saw what I could become,” he said, “She saw that all I needed to see was what I could make myself to be. She did not say a word, but loved that inner me, which she knew would grow to what I could one day be!”
“Did you tell her about me?” she asked again breathlessly.
“Oh yes I did,” he smiled.
“And what did she say?”
“She told me exactly what you would do and say today. Goodbye.”
“Where are you going?” she asked.
“To my car outside, to take her out for a drink. She also doesn’t like reunions, but she wanted me to hear from you, what she saw in me, before you did!”
And with a smile he walked away, and there was laughter in the car parked outside..!

Wow! What an interesting story. It’s so true that one can bring out the worst in someone while another, the best in the person. Jesus saw the potential, progress and promise in Peter. Trust to testify. Don’t judge. This is what you’ve taught us in the story.Thank you, Bobby
You’re welcome Kripa.
