Dutts Prison Chair..!

A cane chair made by actor Sanjay Dutt while in jail is to be auctioned by the Yerawada jail authorities to raise money for the prisoners welfare fund. I would like to attend the auction and am sure it will go along these lines:

Ladies and gentleman,” says the auctioneer, “Today on display is the cane chair made by a great actor while in prison! You can see that he has taken great pains to give it a good finish, bending the cane at the right angle and even polishing the chair to give the finished product a refined look. This chair I am sure will grace the sitting room of someone willing to pay the price!”

“One thousand!” giggled a female actor, a friend of Sanjay.

“One hundred thousand!” said an old man wearing a judge’s gown, as he entered.

“One hundred thousand?” shouted the man with the gavel, jumping up and down excitedly, “One hundred thousand! Did I hear right? One hundred thousand! Ten, nine, eight…”

“Two hundred thousand!” said the great actor who was also in the room, “I would like to keep what I made!”

“Two hundred thousand!” squeaked the auctioneer. “This is not a Victorian piece ladies and gentlemen, nor is it a Tudor chair, but it is going for more than either!”

“Three hundred thousand!” said the man in the judge’s gown.

What?” squealed the auctioneer.

“Three hundred thousand!”

“Four hundred thousand!” shouted a close friend of the actor, “I would not want something so special landing up in a strangers house!”

“Ladies and gentlemen the prisoners welfare fund is going to get a lot of money. Four hundred thousand!”

“Five!” said the old man.

“Five what?” asked the others in the room.

“Five hundred thousand!”

“What do you want with my chair?” asked the great actor turning to the old man, “can’t you let me have what is mine?”

“It is not yours!” said the judge, “and if you are going to raise the bid I will go up to seven hundred thousand!”

The assistant auctioneer rushed to revive his boss who seemed to have collapsed at the podium. “Seven hundred thousand!” he whispered and collapsed again as his assistant took over. “Ladies and gentlemen this simple cane chair made by the actor in prison is now going for seven hundred thousand!”

“Eight!” said the great actor.

“A million!” said the judge.

“A million!” shouted the assistant auctioneer and the room buzzed with whispers as the countdown began and the chair handed over to the old man. “Whom do you represent?” asked the auctioneer as he got up from his stupor and counted the cash handed to him.

“I represent Justice,” said the old man in the judge’s gown, “I represent the Law! There is no price too great for justice: I wish to install this chair where it will be seen by all: To remind people that nobody, nobody is above the law whether it be President, King, famous personality or influential citizen..!”

A hush fell over the room as the old man in the judge’s gown carried the chair out with no help from anyone.
